Apex Pride Festival

Celebrate with loved ones during this evening of contemplation, exploration and fun from 6-8 p.m. at Hunter Street Park. Enjoy a guided story walk, pride-themed crafts from Bear Hands, a pop-up dog booth from Freedom Ride Rescue and sweet treats from Groovy Duck Bakery.
Pride: Durham, NC
Saturdays in June | Durham

One of the largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender events in the area, this June festival features more than 100 vendors every year across four unique events, each hosted by The LGBTQ+ Center of Durham:
- Head to Duke Park June 6 for the 22nd annual Beaver Queen Pageant;
- to the LGBTQ Center of Durham for its Out on the Block party June 13;
- to Bennett Place June 20 for Out & Free African Dance;
- and to CCB Plaza June 27 for the “Our Day Out” Remembrance March & Resource Fair, commemorating North Carolina’s first Pride march in 1981. The march concludes at the center for a gathering featuring impactful public speakers and an open house tour of the facility. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Always Forward. Never Straight.”
Small Town Pride
June 6 and 26 | Downtown Chapel Hill

Commemorate Pride month as the towns of Carrboro and Chapel Hill co-present a monthlong celebration that includes the Chapel Hill Pride Promenade, a parade that begins at Peace & Justice Plaza and ends at 140 West Franklin Street Plaza. Plus, don’t miss drag story times, art installations, live entertainment, food, treats and more. Find other ways to take part in Pride with a playlist compiled by local artists and book lists from Chapel Hill Public Library.
The celebration continues in Carrboro with events including the Pride Piper Walk on June 26 at 4:30 p.m. in which attendees are encouraged to join local officials and help roll Rainbow Ram down Weaver Street from El Centro Hispano to the Town Commons for the Carrboro Orgullo Pride Celebration that runs from 5-9 p.m. and features food trucks, dancing and tables with resources, support and advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community while celebrating and sharing the diverse cultures, identities and experiences of the local Latinx LGBTQ+ community.

Out! Raleigh Pride
June 26-27 | Fayetteville Street, Raleigh
This annual family-friendly event is an integral part of Raleigh’s downtown culture. It promotes diversity, awareness and inclusiveness for the LGBTQ+ community complete with live entertainment, local vendors and artists, great food, a beer garden and a kids zone. This year, the festival is introducing an adults-only (18 and older) day on Friday from 6-10 p.m., while the whole family can take part in Saturday’s events from noon to 7 p.m. The event helps support the LGBT Center of Raleigh and its community programs.

Prism
June 27 | Museum of Life and Science
Pride, play and discovery come together during this joyful, all-ages celebration! Explore the 84-acre campus while engaging with storytimes, crafts and science activities led by community partners like Rainbow Collective for Change.

OutSouth Queer Film Festival
Aug. 13-16 | 309 W. Morgan St., Durham
The Carolina Theatre hosts the second-largest film festival in the Southeast and the largest cultural arts event serving the LGBTQ+ community in the Carolinas. The annual event features screenings of films that provide a glimpse of today’s LGBTQ+ life around the world.

Pride of Holly Springs Festival
Sept. 26 | 300 W. Ballentine St., Holly Springs
Enjoy Holly Springs’ “biggest and boldest” annual festival celebrating love and connection. Join friends and allies for a fun-filled day featuring live music, storytelling, local vendors, food trucks and interactive games in support of the town’s diverse voices.
Pittsboro Pride Festival & Parade
Oct. 17-18 | 220 Lorax Lane, Pittsboro

This weekend of fun, food, music, vendors and activities at The Plant invites the LGBTQIA+ community and friends to join in festivities including a drag show, a dance party and a parade. Both festival days include a stacked lineup of drag performers and musicians. Come out Friday for a celebration and dance party catered to ages 13 and older, and bring the whole family on Saturday for story times, vendors, food and the colorful parade.
