Watch The Bulltown Strutters lead The People’s Parade, followed by and the 12th annual reading of Frederick Douglass’ essay, “The Meaning of July Fourth for the Negro.” Visitors are encouraged to bring nonperishable items to donate to PORCH during the event.
Cary Presents: Independence Day Celebration
Enjoy a patriotic performance by the North Carolina Symphony at Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary, complete with energetic tunes, activities for kids and fireworks over Symphony Lake. If you want to get an early start on July Fourth celebrations, the Town of Cary is also hosting a July Third Celebration from 4-9 p.m. at Downtown Cary Park, complete with a splash pad, spikeball, a virtual reality flight simulator and more.
Star Spangled Block Party at Brier Creek
Bring a lawn chair and enjoy live music from DJ McNally at Brier Creek‘s Star Spangled Block Party, featuring face painting, giveaways, dancing and more. After dark, enjoy one of the largest fireworks shows in the area, set to a choreographed soundtrack by KIX 102.9.
Durham Parks & Recreation July Fourth Celebration
Celebrate July Fourth at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Watch the Durham Bulls play the Norfolk Tides, followed by a memorable fireworks show. If you can’t make it to the game, recommended fireworks viewing spots include Burt’s Bees near the American Tobacco Campus North Deck parking garage, Tobacco Road Sports Cafe and Ponysaurus Brewing.

Olde Fashioned Fourth of July in Apex
Celebrate Independence Day in downtown Apex. The festivities start with a speech from the mayor and end with a Fire Department “splash down” to help you cool off. Enjoy various food trucks and performers throughout the day.
Summer Fest 2025 in Pittsboro
Head to Pittsboro on Sunday, July 6 from 4-9 p.m. for a free event packed with summer fun. Participate in contests, like the watermelon seed spitting and beard and mustache contests, enjoy food and beer from various trucks and shop for crafts and gifts by local makers. Littles will love the inflatable activities in the kids zone.
City of Raleigh Fourth of July Fireworks
Grab a picnic and some chairs and join The City of Raleigh for its fireworks show on July 4 at the stadium complex around Lenovo Center and Carter-Finley Stadium. The gates will open at 6 p.m., and the fireworks show begins at 9:30 p.m. With no vendors or stage performers, guests can give their full attention to the celebration in the sky.
July Fourth Celebration in Chapel Hill

Head to Southern Community Park in Chapel Hill for a fireworks display that will light up the sky with red, white and blue. Shuttles are available, and coolers, blankets and chairs are welcome.
Fourth of July Food Truck Rodeo
Food lovers will want to head to the State Farmers Market on July 4 from 4-9 p.m. for this family-friendly event, hosted by Larger Than Lemons. Take in some music or play a few games while enjoying gourmet food and desserts from one of the food trucks.
Old Fashioned Fourth of July
Spend the afternoon of July 4 on the lawn of the historic Horace Williams House enjoying some lemonade, ice cream and live music from The Village Band. The event runs from 1-3 p.m.; music begins at 1:30. Hosted by Preservation Chapel Hill, this celebration is a great way to engage with local history in honor of Independence Day.
