12th Anniversary Oktoberfest

Celebrate The Glass Jug – RTP’s 12th annual Oktoberfest, where the crew isn’t just raising the bar on great beers – they’re raising the steins! Join on Sept. 12 for a real Oktoberfest experience combined with an anniversary party filled with brews, bites and plenty of cheer.

Check out five featured German-style beers from The Glass Jug and a Marzen from Germany:

• Lagerithmic Schwarzbier
• Celestial Kolsch

Purchase a commemorative 12th anniversary mug for $15 (including your first fill of any of the beers above), and enjoy $10 refills all day!

Music:

• Noon-4:30 p.m.: DJ Steve Penny
• 5-8 p.m.: Oak City Polka Kings

Food and drinks:

• Noon-9 p.m.: Giant soft pretzels at the mobile bar, along with all featured beers (full drink menu available inside)
• Noon-4 p.m.: Char-grilled brats and dogs from B-Dog’s Hot Dog Cart
• 5-8 p.m.: Brats and barbecue from Smoking Aces

Games and activities: *Prizes for all the winners! Games are for adults 21 and older

• 2:30 p.m.: Hot dog eating contest! Who can eat 10 dogs the fastest? Limited space available. Advance registration required.
• 4:30 p.m.: Stein hoisting! Separate men’s and women’s heats. No advance registration needed.
• 7 p.m.: Keg relay race! Teams of two compete, carrying two sixtels from one end of the beer garden to the other (and back). Limited space available. Advance registration required.

Beer puppeteer: Challenge your friends to see who can drink their beer the fastest by puppeteering their glass to their mouth. Free play available at 1, 6 and 8 p.m. No advance sign-up required.

Consider bringing your own lawn chairs or blankets as tables will go quickly. Or get there early to beat the crowd, grab a beer and a picnic table.

If the parking lot is full, overflow parking is available at the business complex next door. Just head between the building and SpeeDee Oil Change Center to access the next parking lot. Outside beverages and coolers are strictly prohibited. Please purchase all alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks from the taproom.
