One of the world’s largest and most influential modern dance festivals marks its 93rd annual season, spotlighting Tere O’Connor Dance.
Tere O’Connor presents a program pairing his newest ensemble work, “The Lace,” with a reconstruction of his first dance, “Construct-A-Guy” (1984). Originally created and performed by O’Connor, “Construct-A-Guy” reflects his early artistic approach and introduces elements that continue to define his work, including shifts in rhythm and energy, spatial fragmentation and a collage-like sensibility. O’Connor will appear between pieces to offer brief remarks on his choreographic approach.
