Are you intrigued by analog photography but don’t know where to begin?

Join this first-ever summer camp experience! To begin the week (M-F), students learn how to use an analog 35mm camera, develop film and make silver gelatin prints in a traditional darkroom. Follow that instruction with methods to refine and even experiment with the silver gelatin process. From there you will explore alternative, historic processes, such as cyanotype and Van Dyke Brown, through contact printing. Finally, end the week by assembling your new photos in a bookmaking workshop. No prior experience necessary. Accepting ages 14 -18.

Preparation: Please come to the first session equipped with 3 rolls of Ilford HP5+ black and white film (35mm), a blotter book and your analog camera. Note that if you do not already have a camera, there will be some to loan. If you have a medium format camera, that’s fine too (reminder in that case to bring 120 Ilford HP5+ film). Please bring your signed liability waiver and model release. If you are under 18, please get parental consent on these forms.
