His program explores the many voices that have shaped American music, featuring works by Florence Price, George Walker, Nathaniel Dett, Judd Greenstein and Fred Hersch, as well as his own arrangement of the spiritual “Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child” and Brahms’ monumental “Variations and Fugue on a Theme by Handel.”
