Backroads and Byways, Landscapes Opening Reception

Opening Reception: Friday, Oct. 30, during the October Last Friday Art Walk, from 6 to 9 p.m.

Backroads and Byways is a curated collection of Jeff McEntire’s work from the past several years, featuring primarily landscapes in a variety of mediums.

Since he was young, Jeff has traveled and explored this country and others, frequently drawn to areas off the beaten path. It is in these ordinary and overlooked places that he has discovered some of the most surprising and inspiring things.

Each piece conveys the spirit of something that has captivated Jeff during his travels, whether dramatic light on the landscape, a compelling composition of shapes and colors, or the rich character of something old and weatherworn.

Over the years, Jeff has worked in nearly every painting medium. More recently, he has gravitated toward the vibrant colors and textural qualities of pastels as his medium of choice, so many of the pieces in this exhibition are pastels.
