Canoe, Kayak and Standup Paddleboarding at Beaver Dam

Independent Paddling Trips provide the equipment while you provide the adventurous spirit. Its guides will not be on the water for you but will remain on shore to assist you when you need them.

The Beaver Dam area is a designated park area that is closed to gasoline powered engines and has become a beloved destination for paddlers. Enjoy quiet coves and hidden nooks as you explore this open water area. For the adventurous spirits, take on a longer paddle and venture to the far end of the impoundment to view some of the largest beaver dams in the Piedmont. Blue herons, osprey and bald eagles are frequent visitors to this area.

Please be aware that you will be responsible for a separate entry fee to this park. This fee is per car and allows access to swim beach, fishing pier, playground, hiking trails, picnic facilities, bathroom and shower facilities.

Reservation and payment must be made prior to arrival.

Kayaks and standup paddleboards are for single paddlers. Canoes are for two paddlers (with one small adult or child non-paddler in center). Price is per boat.

Trips run 2.5 hours. Come back early if you want. Staff members will be there to assist at any time.

If you would like to add an additional hour to your trip for $10 this is available during registration. 3 p.m. and later times may be available upon request.
