The Chatham County Historical Association is pleased to welcome back Courtney Smith on Sept. 6 at 2 p.m. to talk about Everything You Should Have Learned in High School About the U.S. Constitution, continuing the association’s semi-quincentennial celebration of America’s founding.

Exhibits and programs coordinator for the Orange County Historical Museum, Courtney Smith, has a master’s degree in teaching history from UVA. She presented a very popular talk at CCHA in 2025 about the Declaration of Independence. She’s a lively and engaging speaker who has put together a program that examines the context behind this foundational document, explains the basic powers provided and forbidden to the government, and translates it into language that anyone can understand.

It’s everything you should have learned about the Constitution – but probably didn’t. Admission is free and all are welcome!
