Iron Pour

Watch molten iron transform into art as Liberty Arts presents its 10th annual fiery display of metal casting, a free spectacle that draws thousands to Durham Central Park after dark. Teams of artists build furnaces and pour glowing metal into molds while live glassblowing, flameworking and blacksmithing demonstrations add to the redhot lineup. Food trucks, craft brews, a market featuring more than 25 local artisans and an exhibition from this year’s pour crew keep the evening going, with performances by Batalá, DJ Piddipat and UNC Greensboro students rounding out the night.
