Skip to main contentThe Chatham County Historical Association invites you to join “NC History: Between the Lines”, a monthly book club exploring North Carolina’s rich past. The next meeting is Saturday, July 18, at 9:30 a.m. at the Chatham County Historic Courthouse in Pittsboro.
This month, they’ll be discussing Redcoats on the Cape Fear: The Revolutionary War in Southeastern North Carolina, by Robert M. Dunkerly. The city of Wilmington, N.C., played a pivotal role in the Revolutionary War—for both sides. While British troops patrolled the Cape Fear River, local farmers and townspeople faced danger, disruption and difficult choices. Through in-depth research and local accounts, this book shows how ordinary people helped shape the fight for independence right here in North Carolina.
This meeting is open to all and is free. Questions, or to borrow a copy of the book, contact Volunteers@chathamhistory.org
