Join the discussion Sunday, Nov. 1, for an exploration of North Carolina’s history through its three state constitutions: the 1776 constitution, adopted following the Declaration of Independence; the 1868 constitution, adopted during Reconstruction after the Civil War; and the 1971 constitution, the current version.
North Carolina Supreme Court Associate Justice Trey Allen will lead the presentation.
Before joining the North Carolina Supreme Court in 2023, Allen served as a judge advocate in the U.S. Marine Corps and taught at the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Government. He graduated from UNC Pembroke and earned his law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
