Party in Your Park

Durham Parks and Recreation is running it back one more time. The popular Party in Your Park series is coming to Old Farm Road Park this August!

The newest series, Party in Your Park, is sponsored by the Durham Parks Foundation and delivers free music, food and family fun straight to neighborhood parks across Durham. It’s like a block party, just with more space to play. Join on Saturday, Aug. 29 at Old Farm Road Park, located at 7 Hedgerow Place, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., and celebrate your park in a welcoming, high-energy atmosphere designed to bring the community together.

Expect:

• A live DJ
• Yard games
• Recreation activities and demonstrations
• Free food
• Face painting and more

These events are held three times a year in different parks around the city, giving local neighbors a chance to come together, have fun close to home, and discover what Durham Parks and Recreation has to offer. The Party in Your Park series directly reflects DPR’s mission. Residents can discover new opportunities to connect, stay active, and enjoy healthier, happier lives in the Bull City by activating local parks with music, play and shared experiences. DPR is working to connect more residents with the parks right in their own neighborhoods, with more than 1,600 acres of parkland, 66 parks and 56 playgrounds. Because great parks deserve great parties.
