Step into a century of history with Preservation Durham’s Hope Valley Home Tour, a two-day celebration marking the neighborhood’s 100th anniversary. Established in 1926 and centered around its iconic golf course, Hope Valley emerged as one of Durham’s earliest automobile-oriented communities, distinguished by its striking period revival homes – many designed by noted local architect George Watts Carr. Today, the neighborhood stands as one of Durham’s 20 National Register Historic Districts, underscoring its lasting architectural and cultural significance. This year’s tour invites guests inside eight homes built within the neighborhood’s first decade. Tickets are available now, with discounted pricing for Preservation Durham members. General admission includes a one-year membership for new members.
