Taking Back Thursday: Matt Booth Trio
The old way of wrapping up your workday in RTP might have involved rushing to finish tasks and grabbing a quick meal to eat alone: Taking Back Thursday is changing that.
As we reimagine our work routines, let’s rethink how we end our days. Every Thursday evening, Boxyard RTP will feature a live acoustic singer-songwriter on the BeatBox stage. The artist(s) and genre will change each month, but the goal is the same: order some food, enjoy the fresh air, and give yourself the time to unwind and recharge after a busy day.
This week’s performer is the Matt Booth Trio. Matt Booth is a bassist, composer, and educator based in Durham NC. Over the last fifteen years, he has worked continuously in a wide range of groups and in various musical styles, both in his previous home of New Orleans, and touring around the world. For these concerts at Boxyard, he will present a new trio playing recent original compositions of contemporary instrumental music.
Boxyard musical performances happen under the covered Pavilion on the BeatBox stage–weather response subject to safety conditions onstage. In the event of extreme weather, such as flooding, ice or lightning, performances will be canceled. Follow @boxyardrtp on Instagram for updates on time changes or cancelations.
