The Scrap Exchange invites the community to CCB Plaza in downtown Durham for a lively evening featuring Mongo, the organization’s beloved blue mascot, brought to life by Tarish Pipkins of Jeghetto’s Entertainment. Guests can also enjoy live music from Emma Jane and a dance party with DJ MARRS.
The event celebrates The Scrap Exchange’s 35th birthday with treats, a giant birthday card for guests to sign and more. The celebration honors 35 years of inspiring creativity, environmental awareness and community through reuse.
Visitors are also encouraged to explore downtown Durham’s galleries, artists and businesses during Third Friday.

Pop-up art installation, The Ministry of Cardboard, by Jason Lord. After four months of transforming The Scrap Exchange’s Cameron Gallery, Lord brings a pop-up version of his immersive installation to The Artisan Market at 305 and Durham Sculpture Studio for Third Friday.
