Exploring North Hills
Spend a day discovering Raleigh's North Hills entertainment district, from bookstores and coffee shops to renowned restaurants and family-friendly activities

Spend a Day Discovering Raleigh’s North Hills Neighborhood

One of North Raleigh’s most dynamic destinations, North Hills has evolved into much more than a shopping center. The walkable districts blend dining, entertainment, lodging, green spaces and retailers into a hub where it’s easy to spend a few hours – or a few days.

Small Businesses in North Hills

Support small businesses by shopping North Hills’ collection of independently owned retailers. Browse designer fashion at Monkee’s and Uniquities, find your next read at Quail Ridge Books, pick up specialty stationery and gifts at Paper Source, then wander Makers Alley, where hyperlocal artisans and micro-retailers showcase everything from candles and plants to apparel, wellness offerings and handcrafted goods.

Treat yourself to a little selfcare at Face Foundrié, a recently opened facial bar focused on making skin care inclusive, approachable and accessible. Book a facial, brow service or lash treatment, then leave with personalized recommendations from the studio’s skin-care experts to keep your glow going long after your appointment.

Restaurants & Entertainment in Raleigh’s North Hills District

Grab a to-go cocktail, glass of wine or cold beer from participating restaurants and bars and explore the Park District and North Hills Innovation District with the Sip n’ Stroll program. P.S. Velvet Taco and Barking Dog recently joined the lineup!

Plan the perfect date with a cuppa from Jubala Coffee or a meal at Rosewater Kitchen & Bar, James Beard-nominated restaurateur Giorgios Bakatsias’ dreamy Mediterranean-influenced eatery, followed by the latest blockbuster at Regal Cinemas just a short walk away.

Make a reservation at Tamasha when the occasion calls for a little something special. The stylish concept led by Chef Bhavin Chhatwani – a 2025 James Beard Award semifinalist – pairs modern Indian cuisine with craft cocktails in an energetic atmosphere, and recently earned a spot among 50 Indian restaurants recognized by the Michelin Guide in the United States.

Catch a concert in Midtown Park and make an evening of it. Grab a seat on the pet-friendly patio at Barking Dog for comforting fare and cocktails, or swing by Chuy’s for made-to-order Tex-Mex before the music starts. From the Midtown Beach Music Series running April through July to surprise acoustic pop-up performances throughout common areas, it’s easy to pair dinner with a show.

Modern Furniture & Decor in Raleigh

Step inside RH Raleigh and you’ll quickly see why it’s one of North Hills’ most striking destinations. The three-story, 60,000-square-foot luxury home gallery feels more like a design museum than a furniture store, with curated interiors, grand installations and elegant details around every corner. Before you leave, head to the rooftop restaurant for a meal or glass of wine beneath chandeliers, olive trees and a soaring glass-and-steel atrium.
