These local spots in Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Carrboro and Pittsboro offer some of the best places to grab a slice, from classic apple and pecan pies to creative hand pies and pie bars. Here’s where to get pie in the Triangle year-round.

Slice Pie Company

Slice Pie Company serves up award-winning desserts at its shop in southeast Raleigh. The family business – named one of the “most legendary pie shops in the South” by Southern Living – offers delicious flavors like banana cream, apple and dark chocolate truffle.

Bittersweet

Pair your pie with an equally decadent cocktail at Raleigh’s Bittersweet. Indulge in a slice of Derby Pie, a chocolate-bourbon pecan pie with salted caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream, and sip a sweet boozy peppermint latte.

Durham County

The Mad Hatter’s Café & Bakeshop

Loaf

Swing by Loaf’s downtown bakery or find them at the Durham Farmers Market and grab a few pie bars, brownies and tarts to go from this longtime Durham bakery. Flavors include ginger maple pecan, nanaimo and walnut sea salt.
